In order to keep costs down we are looking for sponsors and any available grants, public or private, that could help defray our high energy operating costs. Please forward any leads to any board member.  We have applied for assitance from a program available through our current provider Green Mountain Energy   http://www.greenmountain.com/

UPCOMING PROJECTS AT PADRE

LITTLE LEAGUE:

Padre Little League has

established a “Capital Funds

Account” that we will use to

replace and build “Major

Projects” in the future. We

will accept any donations

designated for the listing

projects or any other

projects that develop.

COMPLETED

PROJECTS:

-Replaced

fencing fabric on the Junior

and Softball fields

-Replaced

storage sheds with two

“portable containers

-Purchased a

tractor/lawnmower for field

maintenance

-Constructed

4 field storage sheds for

each field with yard

equipment

-Installed

two new scoreboards with

timers and pitch counts

-Installed

“Turf” batter’s boxes on the

Minor, Major and

Softball/Tee Ball fields

-Installed

pitching mounds for the

Minor and Major fields

-Constructed

dugouts for Softball/Tee

Ball field with donated

BATTING CAGES 3&4

- Aaron Vice has offered to

work with local donors to

acquire pipe for the Board.

Two generous donors have

donated funding on the

batting cages. We hope to

begin construction and have

completed in 2010 season.

Brad Larza is

taking the lead role on

assembly and installation

once the pipe is acquired

for this exciting project.

Our entire league will

benefit from the opportunity

to hit baseball in our

future batting cages 3&4.

Batting Cages 1&2 were

donated by Orlando Salinas.

John Harrel facilitated the

donation and led a group of

volunteers to install the

cages immediately while we

pursue the long-term

permanent cages project.

CHALLENGER DIVISION

GAMES- Padre Little

League will again host

Challenger Division games

this season. Challenger

Division is for physically

and mentally disabled

children, ages 5-18. Older

division players act as

“shadow players” and assist

the Challenger players while

batting, running and

fielding. We have received

very positive feedback from

all Padre parents and

players, that this

experience is a great

serving experience that

benefits both the Challenger

kids and “shadow” players.

COACHES CLINICS

- Texas A&M Corpus Christi

Manager Scott Malone and

several players at the Padre

LL fields led Coaches’

clinics. The clinic covered

coaching tips, batting,

fielding and throwing

instruction.
